Professor Li Yun
Li Yun is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the School of Foreign Languages, South China University of Technology. Her research focuses primarily on literary and cultural criticism, with particular interests in feminism, Western racism, postcolonialism, and decolonial studies. She serves as a reviewer for various national and provincial-level social science funding programs in China. She is an Executive Council Member of the Comparative Literature and Cross-Cultural Studies Committee under the China Foreign Literature Association, as well as an Executive Council Member of the Guangdong Foreign Literature Association. She has been a Researcher-in-Residence at the University of California, and an Invited Professor at the University of Rennes 1.
To date, she has served as Principal Investigator for one Major Project of the National Social Science Fund of China, “The Historical Origins and Contemporary Forms of Western Racism,” two General Projects of the same fund, and nearly 20 international, provincial and other research projects. She has published over 40 papers in journals indexed by A&HCI and CSSCI. She is the author of two monographs on literary theory, including Resisting Time: Aesthetic Redemption and Its Dissatisfaction from Kant to Adorno and Reconstructing “Feminine” Subjectivity in Negative Dialectics. She has also completed six philosophical translations, four textbooks, and edited one academic collection, Beauty in Digital Time. She is the Founding Editor-in-Chief of a journal, Frontiers of Discourse Studies (https://www.fdsjournal.com/about/) and serves on the editorial boards or as a peer reviewer for several other journals.
