Title: Women and Climate—Practical Research on Greta Gaard’s Climate Justice Criticism
Abstract: Greta Gaard’s critical ecofeminist thought is characterized by its inclusivity and intersectionality, with her critical practice research on climate justice being particularly noteworthy. Gaard points out that current feminist discussions on the ethics of climate justice remain underdeveloped, especially in challenging distribution models that overlook the interrelationships between gender, sexual orientation, species, and the environment. Through analyzing historical feminist climate justice actions, she further emphasizes that women are indeed among the groups most severely impacted by climate change and natural disasters, while established gender roles often hinder women’s effective participation in climate decision-making processes. To achieve more inclusive climate justice, Gaard advocates for the integration of both feminist and post-humanist perspectives to analyze and supplement existing theories and policies.
